#MondayBlog — Where Devils Meet Their Angels

AIRICKA PHOENIX — WHERE DEVILS MEET THEIR ANGELS & THE SINNERS PLAY

Hello New Week,

How was your weekend? Did you spend it with family? Were you stuck at work? Maybe you finally finished that book you’ve been reading. Whatever your weekend was like, I hope it was spent in good healthy. I spent it rebranding myself. Why? You ask. Because I feel that, as an artist (which a writer is) we’re constantly evolving, growing, and changing. We create and recreate ourselves and our work. We build who we are the way we structure our worlds on paper with careful deliberation and planning. I won’t lie, it’s painful work, but oh so worth it.

He asked me what my favorite position was.
I said, “CEO.”

My brand originally started with Young Adult urban fantasy (The Touch Saga). This was back when Twilight was a big deal. It made sense since the only book I had written that I wanted to share was Touching Smoke and it was YA. The other reason is that — in that time — there was either YA or adult and I was too nervous to put anything sexy-sexy out, but I had every intention of doing so once I got my author legs under me, which wound up being a whole lot quicker than I expected when I released Octavian’s Undoing.

Some women fear the fire. Some simply become it. – R.H. Sin.

But to make a long story short, I have finally reached a point in my writing career where I feel like I know who I am and where I want to be. I have big plans for 2017-2018 and I intend to make sure they all happen, starting with my brand — the face of my writing. It took me a long while, countless hours of soul searching, head-desking, and brain storming until I found something I truly felt connected to. I was fortunate to have decided on my logo a while back, a perfect circle representing infinite, self, timelessness, eternity, with the stains of coffee and quotations for my love of coffee and words. Oh, and there’s glitter, because … come on! Sparkly! lol

Where Devils meet their Angels.

The tagline was a bit trickier. As any business owner will tell you, branding with a short blurb of words is excruciating. How do you sum up everything you do in only a single sentence, especially if you write in a vast number of genres as I do? Well, it boils down to team work and list making. Between myself and my crew, we sat down and put our heads together. There was a lot of tears (mainly on my part), but in the end, we came up with the most perfect line: Where Devils meet their Angels. It says it all. It’s too the point. It paints a lovely and sexy picture, and it could be for any genre, a clean blanket while still representing what I write, which is romance. TA DA!

Own who you are.

But of course, I couldn’t stop there. I upgraded my fantastic fan page! New, pretty banners and sexy new title!

Come join the Infernal Playground!

Why Infernal Playground? Because infernal is another word for demonic, devilish, wicked . . . hellish. Where else would devils play, right? *wink wink* Dark, dangerous, and brilliantly seductive, just the way I like it and just the way I write it.

What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Did you join us?

I think that’s all for this week. I’ll see you again next Monday where we will be revealing the cover for PROTECTOR’S CLAIM!!!!! AHHHH! There’s still time if you’re interested in participating. I really would love to see you. Big thank yous in advance! <3
