“I had a wonderful time,” she murmured.

She lowered her lashes and she absently picked at her keys. “I guess I should let you go. Thank you for dinner and—”
His mouth brushed over hers in a feather light whisper that devoured her words, her breath, and her senses in a single swoop. Then he pulled back. The light shone in his hair, turning the strands into a halo around his darkened face, but his eyes blazed. They bore into hers with barely controlled hunger and question.
Avery stood stunned, her heart a frantic mess in her chest. Her lips burned from the barely second long kiss. Her knees trembled.
“Mr. Bancroft…?”
“Lucian,” he corrected quietly.
“Lucian.” His name whispered out of her in a breathless rush.
“I want you,” he stated simply. “And I want to know what I need to do to get you in my bed.”
